This is a die cast toy rallye car comes with a two tone paint, on upper part it is a hot red and the lower half it is silver. Several decals are presented on the top and sides of this sports car. The rear trunk lid / hatch opens. This French mini rocket was a 1990 release by Matchbox, in blue box, which is dated to 1990. This specific car was distributed in the United Kingdom. Made in China, Circa 1990 and Copyrighted by Matchbox International Limited. The Peugeot 205 is a supermini car produced by the French manufacturer Peugeot from 1983 to 1998. It was declared "1984 Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 by Matchbox of the decade" by CAR Magazine in 1990. It also won What Car's Car of the Year for 1984. To homologate the 205 T16 ("Turbo 16" in France) Group B rally car, Peugeot had to produce 200 road-going examples. According to the Group B regulations, these had to be based on a current production road car. Peugeot decided to base the Group B rally car on the two door version of the 205. The engine was based on the cast iron block of the Diesel version of the then new XU engine family, albeit with a specially developed 16-valve head. The gearbox came from the Citroen SM but was mounted transversely. The car had all wheel drive and so much more. Measurements are approximately 2 3/4 inches long by 1 1/4 inches wide.
