This Matchbox Breakdown Van (MB53) is a fantastic find for collectors, still preserved in its original 1990s-era blister pack. The vehicle features a vibrant yellow die-cast body with "Auto Relay" and "24 Hours Towing" graphics, accented by a red-and-orange chevron stripe, and blue tinted windows. Designed for interactive play, the van includes functional moving parts, specifically a black adjustable towing crane on the rear. The black chassis is clearly embossed with the Matchbox logo, the year 1985, and "Made in China," indicating this specific release is from the Matchbox International Ltd. era.
The packaging is in good vintage condition, featuring the classic orange grid "laser" background synonymous with Matchbox in the early 90s. The card art highlights the vehicle as part of the "Moving Parts" series and includes the MB 53 designation. On the reverse side, the card features an advertisement for the "Super Spin Car Wash" playset. There is some staining on the cardboard card. Made circa 1990. Made in China.
