This is an Easter "Baby Chick in a Lavender Egg" Candy Dispenser by PEZ. 2004. This nice item is of a baby chick lounging in a lavender egg. One for Easter, this piece was released in 2004. This is an adorable baby chick with a bright red beak. Splendidly sitting on the bottom of a lavender colored egg, which is also sitting, on a bright green stem. Chicks are commonly raised for eggs. Leghorns are very productive layers, as are Plymouth Rocks, Orpingtons, Ameraucanas, and Wyandottes. Chicken eggs are usually either brown or white, but others, like Araucanas and Ameraucanas lay blue or blue-green eggs. All eggs have a shell, which have pores into the air cell. the yolk is in the center, held in place by the chalazae. the yolk is surrounded by the almuben, or white. on the yolk, there is a structure called the blastoderm, which develops into a chick should the egg be fertilized. A fertilized chicken egg takes about 21 days to hatch from the day they are layed  Includes 1 roll of PEZ candy. Please do not eat the candy since it is many years old. Just the right find for PEZ Collectors. Made in China between 1991 and present. With feet. Measurements are: 5 inches tall by 1 1/4 inches wide by 1 1/2 inches deep.
